What name do you go by at Bridges?: Ms. Liz
Tell us a little about yourself.: I am a career switcher and a recovering lawyer. I came to education after not being able to deny the inspiration, love, and energy I only got from being around children.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?: I became a Capital Teaching Resident in 2013. I taught at E.L. Haynes while taking the necessary classes to become a teacher. From there, I came to Bridges!
What do you like best about working in education?: The intellectual challenge of presenting every concept in a way that best matches each student's unique learning style.
What is your favorite part of the school day?: I love watching my students and joining in with them at centers time, seeing them putting all the skills and concepts we've worked on into action.
What do you like best about Bridges, your classroom, or your teaching team?: I love working with Ms. Beatriz in the classroom! She has more years of classroom experience than I do, so it allows me to learn new skills as an educator by observing her every day. Together, we make a dynamic duo that can't be beat!
What were you like when you were a kid?: As a second grader, I made up an imaginary planet with my best friend. We developed a geography, culture, history - even a language! - then insisted to everyone we were, in fact, from the planet ClickLou.
