How to Apply

Bridges Public Charter School is a free public school open to all District of Columbia residents. Non-residents can apply and attend the school for a fee. For the 2025-2026 school year Bridges PCS, DCPS, and most DC public charter schools will have a common application and a single lottery. Starting December 16, 2024 applications will open for the 25-26 school year for PreK-3 — 5th grade at myschooldc.org. Families can continue to apply at myschooldc.org following the lottery date.  New applications submitted after the March 1 lottery deadline will be added to the Bridges Waitlist.

Eligibility

Bridges will be serving students in grades Pre-K3 through 5th grade for the 2025-2026 school year.

You are eligible to apply if:

  • You reside in the District of Columbia.

  • Your child is eligible to attend grades PK3 to 4th grade.

***Children must turn 3 by September 30th of the upcoming school year to enter PK3; must turn 4 by September 30th to enter PK4; must turn 5 by September 30th to enter K. For grades 1 through 5, students must have successfully completed the previous grade.***


Special Education Preference

Bridges PCS has an additional lottery preference for high level special education students to gain entry into our high level special education classrooms.  Please click this link to learn about if your student would qualify for this additional lottery preference.
